Dear women, dear friends, dear sisters
We are writing to inform you that our exhibition «PeaceWomen Across the Globe» will be in Juárez, Mexico from the 8th March – 18th March 2010. Juarez is on the Mexico-US border and is well known for its instability and extreme violence. We are showing it in cooperation with Casa Amiga a women’s crisis center, which was founded by Esther Chavez and provides support to femicide survivors and women, men and children that have lost relatives to femicide. As I am sure you are aware Juarez has been overwhelmed with extremely high levels violence, in particular against women in recent years. We have attached a description of the organization Casa Amiga and their work, and of the situation in Juarez, Mexico. Please take the time to read it (it is in Spanish, English and German).
The women there have suffered so much and need our solidarity! We are asking you to send the women from Casa Amiga a short message of solidarity and friendship. Many of you work in similar organizations all over the world and your will help give them the feeling they are part of a global network and not alone!
